COVID-19 innovations and opportunities

Today, we wanted to provide an update on our COVID-19 efforts — and how we are celebrating, sourcing, and supplying innovations around the globe with the COVID-19 Innovation Hub.

COVID-19 Innovations
As you read this, the COVID-19 Innovation Hub features more than 800 innovations across 12 COVID-19 categories, and we’re sharing some of their inspiring work on the Innovation Hub’s new “Innovations in Action” feature. See what these innovations are doing to address COVID-19, and where they are doing it — such as the emergency communication app by HealthAlert implemented in Bangladesh with Noora Health and in Mozambique with Village Reach. So far, we’ve featured 7 stories, and you can check back regularly for new ones.

Sign up for COVID-19 Innovation Hub emails to stay in the loop about these stories and other updates. And if you are an innovator and have yet to submit your innovation, please submit it for consideration.

And if you are a funder, implementer or anyone else looking for solutions, please know that you can contact the GIE team to request a list of recommended innovations that fit your needs.

COVID-19 Funding Opportunities
Since the COVID-19 Innovation Hub launched, we have added more than 200 funding opportunities, with about 100 of these opportunities still open and accepting applications. There are a wide range of funding opportunities available, from direct response for COVID-19 to maintaining essential health and education services during the pandemic. Below are 3 of these funding opportunities, all with applications due soon — please take a look!

We hope you appreciate the selection of innovations in action here and the funding opportunities below, and please be on the lookout for more announcements in the weeks to come!
