FATE Foundation receives grant from Coca-Cola Foundation for Orange Corners Nigeria Program
The FATE Foundation received a grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation to support the Orange Corners Nigeria (OCN) Programs. OCN is an initiative launched by the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Nigeria in 2019, with the support of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Lagos. OCN aims to contribute to a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem by providing economic opportunities, skills, and a strong network for young people with innovative business ideas. It consists of a business incubator, an innovation fund, and a student ambassador program.
The official partnership ceremony took place at FATE Foundation’s office in Lagos, Nigeria. The event was attended by The Coca-Cola Foundation Team, The FATE Foundation Team, FATE School, Orange Corner Nigeria Alumni members, current OCN members, and student ambassadors.
During the ceremony, Adenike Adeyemi, the Executive Director of FATE Foundation, expressed her excitement and gratitude for The Coca-Cola Foundation’s partnership in the Orange Corners Nigeria Program. She mentioned that the grant will have a significant impact on empowering young Nigerians in their entrepreneurial and professional journeys, as well as creating sustainable economic opportunities for them.
Michiel van der Pompe from The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs also expressed his pleasure and gratitude for The Coca-Cola Foundation’s partnership with Orange Corners Nigeria. He acknowledged the energy and innovation of Nigerian youth and emphasized the importance of providing them with the necessary training and support to thrive as entrepreneurs.
Saadia Madsbjerg, President of The Coca-Cola Foundation, reiterated the Foundation’s commitment to fostering youth entrepreneurship in Nigeria. She emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives like OCN that provide young people with the skills and resources they need to start and grow their own businesses.
At the ceremony, current OCN cohort incubatees and alumni members had the opportunity to share their experiences and talk about the positive impact of the OCN program on their businesses.
