Flutterwave appoints Oneal Bhambani, former American Express Executive, as new CFO

Flutterwave, Africa’s leading payments technology company has announced the appointment of Oneal Bhambani as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Bhambani joins the Nigerian fintech startup from American Express and Kabbage where he managed fintech products. Kabbage is a subsidiary of American Express that offers a broader set of cash flow management tools to millions of businesses.

He was the CFO and Head of Capital Markets at Kabbage. Among other functions, Kabbage provides credit, banking, and payment solutions to commercial customers of American Express.

Flutterwave has been expanding exponentially and recently completed its $250 million in Series D funding. The company is currently valued at over $3billion.

As CFO of one of Africa’s most outstanding fintech startups, Bhambani will be instrumental in overseeing the company’s expansion.  He is expected to inject his global experience in areas such as operational controls and financial rigour and discipline. Bhambani was responsible for all financial operations at Kabbage
