Ghana and Uruguay sent packing from the World Cup as South Korea beat Portugal 2:1
Uruguay and Ghana have both been eliminated from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Giorgian de Arrascaeta scored twice in the first half to give Uruguay a 2-0 lead after Andre Ayew missed a penalty in the 21st minute.
In the second Group H match played at the same time, South Korea came from behind to beat fancied Portugal 2-1 and progressed to the knock out phase which commences on Monday. South Korea progressed over Uruguay on goal difference as both teams have 4 points apiece..
Prior to Hwang Hee-91st-minute chan’s winner to put South Korea through, it appeared as though Uruguay might be able to go to the round of 16, forcing Luis Suarez to conclude the game in tears.
Portugal tops the group with seven points, followed by South Korea and Uruguay with four apiece and Ghana with three points from three matches.
