The Black Founders Fund for Startups in Africa and Europe has launched applications. Startups from Africa that apply for the fund must have a legal presence on the continent or have their headquarters there.

The Google for Startups Founders Funds, which were launched in 2020, have so far contributed more than $30 million to help Black- and Latino-led firms in the US and in Brazil, Europe, and other countries. From two prosperous cohorts, at least 110 black-owned enterprises in Africa have profited.

For assistance in navigating each stage of their company journey, selected founders receive up to $150,000 in cash along with continuous Google mentorship, Google Cloud credits, and product support.

The support that the chosen startups will receive will go a long way to unlock the potential and promote growth in the African tech ecosystem and the next generation of African tech entrepreneurs. Startups are a critical driver of innovation, economic growth, and social progress, particularly in Africa. Folarin Aiyegbusi, head of startup ecosystem at Google Sub-Saharan Africa, urged all qualified startups to submit. The deadline for submissions is March 26. Visit the official page to apply
