Investors gain N173.7 billion on the Nigerian Stock Exchange as the NGX-All Share Index rose by 0.62% on Thursday

Stocks on the Nigerian Stock Exchange increased on Thursday as the benchmark index closed at 52,048.85 points, an increase of 0.62%. The trade turnover ended with a 5.32% decrease in transaction value. A total of 3,462 transactions involving 211.74 million shares worth N7.73 billion were completed. The year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 1.56% as a result, and the market capitalization increased by N173.74 billion to close at N28.35 trillion.

The market remained positive as gains in telco heavyweight MTNN (+2.33%) and Tier-1 banking stocks ZENITHBANK (+2.87%), GTCO (+2.08%), and FBNH (+2.22%) more than offset losses in AIRTELAFRI (-0.64%). AIRTELAFRI (-0.64%) topped the value chart with trades worth 4.14 billion, while MANSARD (+0.00%) topped the volume list with 26.25 million units traded.

Advancers outnumbered decliners in a 4.83-to-1 ratio as the market breadth closed in the green. Twenty-eight (28) other companies trailed INTBREW (+8.60%) on the gainer’s table, while FTNCOCOA (-3.57%) led five (5) other companies on the laggard’s list.
