Mapping Africa’s startup funding landscape

The African Business Angels Network (ABAN) is excited to announce its partnership with Briter Bridges in mapping Africa’s startup funding landscape, and make reliable data and insights available to investors and stakeholders in early-stage investing across African markets.

While the African entrepreneurial ecosystem has grown exponentially these past years, critical information is still limited. Providing insightful analysis is mission-critical in improving our understanding of what makes entrepreneurs and investors succeed on the continent. Read more, on why this is important.

The research will look at the different types of investors who operate across Africa, their funding criteria, and the deals made to date. This form will help inform and structure the report and feed the database with updated information. The team will look to present initial findings at the Africa Early Stage Investor Summit in Cape Town.

Are you an investor or do you represent an organisation investing in Africa? We encourage you to be part of our research by completing the survey below.

All participants will receive insights and access to the (anonymised) data-set. The initial findings shall be presented at the Africa Early Stage Investment Summit (#AESIS2019) in Cape Town on November 13-15 [tickets available here].
