Minister of Sports Charges Super Eagles to Soar in 2026 World Cup Qualifying Matches
The Nigerian Super Eagles have been exhorted to get off to a very strong start in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign by Senator John Owan Enoh, the honorable minister of sports development.
As the Super Eagles prepare for their first game of the qualification season, the Minister has made this accusation. A strong supporter of the squad, Senator Enoh expressed faith in the group’s skills and emphasized how proud the country is of the Super Eagles. He asked the players and the technical staff to play their hardest in these two games..
“The memory of Nigerians losing in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers is still fresh in their minds.” He stated. “The group should not rely on chance to determine their outcome. To select the first six points that are in front of us, we should put our best foot forward.
“I have total confidence in our gifted team. “We think the Super Eagles can win two games in the coming weeks, as they have a strong track record of victory,” Senator Enoh said.
This is a depiction of the energy and tenacity of the Nigerian people, not just a football match. I exhort our athletes to put everything on the line and represent their country with pride.”
Senator Enoh also used the occasion to express his gratitude to the support staff and coaching staff under Jose Peseiro for their commitment to excellence in team preparation.
“I want to reassure you that the government is fully behind you as the Minister of Sports Development. Senator Enoh reaffirmed, “We will keep funding sports infrastructure, training centers, and initiatives that develop the potential of our young athletes. The Super Eagles’ home opener is against Lesotho, while their away openers are against Zimbabwe on November 16 and 19, respectively.
