MTN and Microsoft Partner to drive growth for Nigerian SMEs
MTN and Microsoft have signed an MOU to partner on driving growth for SMEs in Nigeria in the areas of capacity development, access to markets, business networks and innovative solutions. The arrangement will use Microsoft’s technologies and MTN Nigeria’s extensive network in creating growth driven business propositions for SMEs.
Speaking at the MOU signing ceremony in Lagos, Onyinye Ikenna-Emeka, MTN General Manager for Enterprise Marketing, expressed MTN’s commitment to the success of businesses in Nigeria as demonstrated in the company’s collaborations with SMEs, Large Corporates and Governments in creating bespoke solutions. According to him “We launched the MTN Man-In-The-Box Initiative to further demonstrate our commitment to the development of businesses and ensure their sustained business growth.”
In the same vein, Mr. Akin Banuso, the Country General Manager of Microsoft Nigeria said that “Microsoft’s approach has been one of empowerment and collaboration. We work with SMEs and as we learn from them, this makes us poised to provide tailor-made solutions to the challenges they face on a daily basis.
“We are excited about this partnership and looking forward to providing support to SMEs through the Microsoft Biz4Afrika initiative. This means that we are able to empower them to digitally transform their businesses and be more productive and competitive.”
Biz4Afrika is a Microsoft project dedicated to helping and empowering entrepreneurs and SMEs across Africa to achieve success and discover their full potential. The Biz4afrika hub provides SMEs with resources, advice and information that they need to grow and scale. The platform has been operational in South Africa and with the MOU signing between MTN and Microsoft, Nigerian SMEs will begin to benefit from Microsoft’s immense offers on the platform to SMEs.
