MTN launches Y’ello Care Campaign to empower entrepreneurs
The highly anticipated 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign, which will run from June 1 to June 21, 2023, has been officially launched by MTN Group. The campaign’s main theme for this year is “Empowering entrepreneurs to unlock growth and job creation for communities.”
The 2023 campaign highlights MTN’s ongoing dedication to bringing about positive change among the communities it serves, building on the triumphs of previous years. The effort this year focuses on small-scale business owners, giving them valuable digital and financial tools, promoting wider market access, and providing them with beneficial business mentoring and knowledge-sharing sessions
Our mission goes beyond connectivity; it entails accelerating change and fostering advancement in the communities we serve, according to MTN Group Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer Nompilo Morafo. “MTN is aggressively developing an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship that will drive sustainable economic development across the continent by concentrating on grassroots entrepreneurs and utilizing digital and financial technologies. This program is in line with our long-term goal of having an inclusive digital Africa. It highlights our dedication to becoming a catalyst for growth and change in the areas we serve rather than just a telecom provider.
The “21 Days of Y’ello Care” program, which is now in its 16th year, is MTN’s premier employee volunteerism initiative and was created to involve MTN personnel in high-impact humanitarian projects in their local communities. The campaign has a fresh topic every year, representing MTN’s all-encompassing strategy for social responsibility.
The 2023 campaign emphasizes underserved communities, such as those in rural, remote, and disadvantaged areas, with a focus on women, youth, and people with disabilities. It also makes use of digital and financial tools as critical enablers to stimulate growth for grassroots-based entrepreneurs.
