NGX All-Share Index rebounds slightly higher by 3bps on Thursday
Activity on the Lagos bourse was mixed, albeit with a bullish tilt as the benchmark index closed marginally higher (+0.03%) at 44,332.38 points. Gains in WAPCO (2.12%), STANBIC (+3.57%) and DANGSUGAR (+3.92%) offset the declines in ZENITHBANK (-0.74%) and ACCESSCORP (-1.81%). Despite the gain, the market remains on track for a weekly loss. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return stood at 3.78%, while the market capitalisation rose by ₦7.24bn to close at ₦24.14trn.
Analysis of today’s market activities showed that trade turnover settled lower relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions down by 12.87%. A total of 119.22m units of shares valued at ₦3.20bn were exchanged in 2,909 deals. FIDELITYBK (-1.57%) led the volume chart with 39.36m units traded while AIRTELAFRI (+0.00%) led the value chart in deals worth ₦1.76bn.
Market breadth closed flat. UPDCREIT (+8.93%) led fifteen (15) others on the gainer’s table, while BETAGLAS (-9.98%) topped fifteen (15) others on the laggard’s log.
