Nigeria Stock Market (NGX ASI) Losses N25 billion (0.09%) on Tuesday to settle at 48,853.54 points

The NGX All-Share Index closed 0.09% down to settle at 48,853.54 points today, driving the domestic market lower under the influence of bearish emotions. The valuation of the stock market was N26.6 trillion as of Tuesday’s market closure, with a market capitalisation that had declined by N25 billion. The stock market has increased by 6137.1 basis points, or 12.56%, so far this year.

MTNN (-3.26%) and STANBIC (-1.83%) losses reduced investor interest in BUACEMENT (+3.60%), ZENITHBANK (+2.45%), and WAPCO (+0.23%). The year-to-date return consequently dropped to 14.37%, and the market capitalization lost 24.80 billion dollars to finish at 26.61 trillion.

With the value of transactions increasing by 53.94%, analysis of today’s market activity revealed that trade turnover settled higher than it had the previous session. In a total of 3,286 transactions, 162.98 million shares worth N3.87 billion were swapped. While MTNN (-3.26%) topped the value chart with transactions of N2.60 billion, STERLNBANK (-1.44%) topped the volume chart with 31.61 million units exchanged.

At a ratio of 1.27 to 1, decreasing issues outnumbered advancing ones, resulting in a negative market breadth. On the laggard’s log, CHAMS (-8.70%) outperformed thirteen (13) other competitors, whereas CORNERST (+8.70%) outperformed ten (10) others.
