Nigerian stock exchange All Share Index gain 0.95% on Wednesday trading

The Nigerian Stock Exchange closed 0.95% higher at 52,097.62 points on Wednesday, extending its winning streak to a sixth straight session. As a result the ASI’s year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 1.65%, and the market capitalization increased by N267.42 billion to close at N28.37 trillion

Trade turnover settled higher than it had the previous session with 5.109 transactions involving 6.48 billion shares worth N19.47 billion were completed. With 6.13 billion units exchanged in transactions totaling N15.57 billion, TRANSCORP (+9.67%) once more topped the volume and value charts.

The market remained positive due to gains in AIRTELAFRI (+4.34%), MTNN (+0.44%), and ZENITHBANK (+2.27%). Thirty-seven (37) other companies were surpassed by LIVESTOCK (+10.00%) and ACADEMY (+10.00%) on the leader’s log, while FIDELTYBK (-6.57%) was surpassed by five (5) other companies on the laggard’s table.
