Nigerian stock market gains 0.16% on Tuesday
The benchmark index ofbthe Nigerian stock exchange rose by 0.16% on Tuesday to close at 59,110.02 points. Thus, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 15.33% and the market capitalization increased by N51.82 billion dollars to close at N32.19 trillion.
The market’s performance was mostly driven by gains in the industrial behemoth DANGCEM (+0.14%), along with the banking stocks GTCO (+0.78%) and ACCESSCORP (+0.34%), which outweighed losses in NB (-0.68%), ETI (+1.28%), and INTBREW (-1.89%).
Trade turnover was lower than it had been during the previous session, with a 19.61% decrease in transaction value. 8,272 transactions totaling 588.85 million shares worth N8.96 billion were completed. With 78.51 million units traded, UBA (+0.00%) dominated the volume chart, while GTCO (+0.78%) won the value chart with deals totaling 2.11 billion.
On the leader’s log, CHAMS (+10.00%) outperformed thirty-four (34) other competitors, while CORNERST (-9.82%) outperformed eleven (11) other competitors.
