Nigerian stock market gains 0.90% on Monday
Nigerian stock market All-Share Index closed 0.90% higher at 66,151.38 points today. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 29.07%, while market capitalization increased by 324.26 billion to close at 36.21 trillion.
Gains in industrial heavyweight BUAFOODS (+9.09%), together with FBNH (+0.30%) and UBA (+0.36%), more than offset selloffs in GTCO (-0.28%), ACCESSCORP (-3.32%), and NB (-2.11%).
Turnover was lower with the value of transactions falling by 7.52%. In 7,193 transactions, 311.12 million shares worth N3.92 billion were exchanged. ACCESSCORP (-3.32%) dominated the volume and value charts, trading 43.70 million units in transactions worth N703.33 million. DANGSUGAR (+10.00%) led twenty-four (24) others on the leaderboard, while NEM (-9.54%) led seventeen (17) others on the laggard board.
