The Anzisha Prize is Africa’s largest award for its youngest entrepreneurs aged 15 to 22 years old, and it awards over USD $200,000 in business support and prize money to very young entrepreneurs from throughout the continent each year.

Over 200 Very Young Entrepreneurs have been championed and supported by the Anzisha Prize across the African continent. We hope you filed your application for the 2023 cycle if you are a young African Entrepreneur striving to establish a small business or you’ve invented something that offers you and your friends with an income. Be a role model for other young entrepreneurs and motivate them to make a difference in their communities and in Africa as a whole.

By entering the Anzisha Prize, you have the opportunity to earn a share of $50,000 in grand cash prizes and business help. Africa’s future is in your hands, and we want to recognize your ability to boost the economy and create jobs in your country.

For over ten years, the Anzisha Prize has supported and championed very young entrepreneurs through its venture development fellowship program.

The fellowship is a three-year program that recognizes and rewards business expansion. The program will track the performance of the firm and the entrepreneur over the course of three years.

Entrepreneurs will pitch their ideas and successes at the conclusion of the second year for a chance to earn a share of $50,000 in rewards.

The Grand Prizes are divided into four categories.

• The Prize for Job Creation
• Prize for Revenue Growth
• Prize for Storytelling
• Prize for Integrating Systems and Processes
• The fellows will graduate and join the Anzisha Prize alumni network at the completion of the three-year program. If you are a young African entrepreneur striving to establish a small business or have invented something that offers revenue for you and your friends, we welcome your application.

Requirements for Eligibility

To offer as proof, you must be between the ages of 15 and 22 and have a valid ID or passport. Anyone born before September 1, 2001, or after August 31, 2008, will be disqualified.

You must be an African national running a business in Africa for African customers/beneficiaries.

The Anzisha Prize is not granted for brilliant ideas or company plans; you must have already begun and be able to demonstrate your progress! Begin immediately to guarantee that you have tangible results to share before applications open.

Your company, invention, or social endeavor can be in any industry or field (science and technology, civil society, arts and culture, sports, and so on). Any type of business is welcome to apply.

Individuals that apply must be one of the company’s founding members (for example, two or three co-founders who started the initiative together).

Criteria for Judging

• Your firm or project will be judged on the following 5 criteria if it is chosen as one of our Anzisha ventures:
• Is your business well-established with consumers and beneficiaries, and do you provide value to them?
  Are you, the founder, in charge of leading and managing your business?
  Is your business already making an impact?
  Does your venture, whether for profit or not, already generate revenue or have an influence on its beneficiaries? Is it possible to enhance revenue or beneficiary reach with Anzisha’s assistance?
• Is there any chance that your venture will create more high-quality jobs?
  

Prizes:

• Throughout the fellowship, qualifying fellows will receive bi-annual cash stipends.
  For qualifying fellows in Years 2 and 3, there are short-term educational opportunities, internships, and specialized technical expert consultations.
  The Job Creation Prize is given to the Year 2 entrepreneur who has produced the most job opportunities since joining the fellowship.
  The Revenue Growth Prize is given to the entrepreneur in Year 2 who has had the greatest business revenue growth while joining the fellowship.
  The Storytelling Prize is given to a Year 2 entrepreneur that has creatively conveyed and distributed their entrepreneurship narrative through written, oral, and visual storytelling since joining the fellowship.
• Systems and techniques for integration Prize – given to the entrepreneur in Year 2 who has effectively used the program’s systems and processes to advance their business model since joining the fellowship.

• Shared Monetary Reward of $140,000 spread over three years, including cash stipends

• Advisory Service: Fellows will receive monthly coaching support from a Venture Partner to help them accomplish their personal and business goals.
