Now Open: VC4A Mentor-Driven Capital Program for aspiring Women business mentors

Are you a seasoned business professional, an independent contractor, or an investor with spare time? Would you like to be more active in the vibrant startup ecosystem? Do you wish to significantly impact the lives and endeavors of entrepreneurs? Next, submit an application to mentor in this year’s VC4A Mentor-Driven Capital Program Women-Edition.

One of VC4A’s strategies for enhancing startup ecosystems worldwide is “mentor-driven capital.” It’s about locating and assisting motivated and seasoned professionals like you to use the VC4A Mentorship Marketplace to connect promising startups with the information, network, and experience you’ve accumulated throughout your career. You gain insightful knowledge of the regional startup ecosystem as you assist your mentee on his or her entrepreneurial journey, and you also improve your own mentoring, business, and leadership abilities.

Through the VC4A Mentor-Driven Capital framework, this program strives to strengthen the capacity of business women as powerful mentors. Through the comprehensive framework facilitated by other women experts, you and chosen other business leaders will receive expert guidance, training, hands-on expert sessions around mentoring, and participate in interactive discussions on topics like mentoring founders for fundraising, corporate partnership building, and angel investing.

The Mentor-Driven Capital initiative this year is entirely run by women and is dedicated to empowering female mentors and investors.

The underrepresentation of women in leadership positions within investment funds, angel networks, entrepreneur support organizations (ESOs), and mentor networks is one possible explanation.

Selection Standards:

You are based in Africa or have a close connection to it.
You have over ten years of experience as a senior business executive, entrepreneur, and/or investor.
You have a deep interest in the startup ecosystem and are eager to support new businesses.
Between March and April 2023, you can participate in the 5 virtual online bootcamp sessions and expert sessions (each session lasts around 1-1.5 hours, or 3–4 hours total per month).
You’re interested in using the VC4A Mentorship Marketplace to provide mentorship to African startups after the program.
