Over 25 TV stations Africa to provide free to air coverage of the EPL in 20/21 season
Infront, a Wanda Sports Group company and the media-rights agency responsible for negotiating English Premier League’s free-to-air deals in sub-Saharan Africa, has secured a 30 percent increase in broadcasters for one of the world’s top football leagues.
With over 25 broadcasters to provide broadest free-to-air reach of the top English football league, Premier League will enjoy its broadest ever coverage on free-to-air television in sub-Saharan Africa for the 2020/21 season.
Over 25 broadcasters across more than 20 territories will show one match a week on free-to-air television, expanding the footprint of the Premier League on the continent even further. These are highlighted by new agreements in several territories including Benin, Botswana, Cameroon and Zambia.

The league is one of the best in the world and we are delighted to see loyalty from our long-term partners as well as a recognition from new broadcasters who are keen to deliver world class action to their viewers.”
Paul Molnar, Premier League’s Director of Broadcasting added: “Sub-Saharan Africa has produced many of the Premier League’s top stars, and we are delighted that the passionate fan base in the region will continue to have greater access to our matches. Infront’s experience in finding the most well-established and reliable broadcast partners has helped deliver our product to a wider audience.”
All broadcasts of the weekly match include English, French or Portuguese commentary as well as dedicated services in local languages such as Swahili. There are also weekly preview, magazine and highlights programmes made available.
The 2020/21 EPL season began on 12 September and will run until 23 May 2021. It continues this weekend with the key fixture of Chelsea versus Crystal Palace.
