Radisson Collection Hotel & Conference Center opens in Abuja

In Abuja, the capital and hub of Nigeria’s government, Radisson Hotel Group will be launching its upscale lifestyle brand, Radisson Collection. The Group now has three Radisson Collection hotels in Nigeria, making Radisson Collection Hotel & Conference Center, Abuja its third Radisson Collection and ninth hotel overall. This puts the Group on schedule to open 15 hotels in Nigeria by 2025.

The hotel will be a 45-minute drive from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, the nation’s second busiest airport after Lagos, and will be situated near to the Presidential Palace in Maitama District, one of Abuja’s most prestigious and premium neighborhoods. The most well-known market in the city, Wuse Market, the Jabai Boat Club, a family amusement center with access to the water, and the Abuja National Mosque, also known as the Nigerian National Mosque and erected in 1984, are all close by to the hotel.

The 249-room, newly constructed hotel will include a wide range of accommodations, including ordinary rooms, apartments, lofts, and presidential suites. It will be the city’s first luxury hotel in Abuja. The meeting spaces at the Radisson Collection Hotel & Conference Center, Abuja, Nigeria, span about 3000 square meters and include a conference hall that can be divided into five smaller meeting rooms, a board room, and a pre-function area.

With a vast potential for significant scale, both Nigeria and its capital city, Abuja, have been identified as key markets within our robust development strategy to reach 150 hotels across Africa within the next five years, said Erwan Garnier, Senior Director, Development, Africa at Radisson Hotel Group. It is an honor to begin the year by establishing our cherished luxury lifestyle brand as Abuja’s first luxury hotel for experience-driven visitors.

Ramsay Rankoussi, Vice President of Development for the Radisson Hotel Group in Africa and Turkey, stated: With Avalon Intercontinental Nigeria Limited, pioneers in the hospitality sector, we are happy to maintain our long-standing partnership. Together, we presently run three properties in Lagos. A testament to our exceptional owner retention is the fact that 65% of our hotel owners hold several properties within the Radisson Hotel Group.

The hotels that make up the Radisson Collection are famous buildings in distinctive settings. Each hotel offers the brand’s characteristics of signature food, local art, and activities to foster genuine connections while remaining true to the location.

A lobby lounge, coffee bar, and business class lounge will make up the diverse eating options at the Radisson Collection Hotel & Conference Center, Abuja, Nigeria. These spaces will offer the right menu and setting for a short dinner or business meeting. The specialized, all-day dining, and roof top restaurants will provide unique and memorable eating experiences.

Visitors can recline on the pool deck and bar or indulge in their preferred workout or treatment at the on-site health and wellness centers. Abuja’s social scene will soon include a new element thanks to the hotel’s on-site nightclub.

Chairman of Avalon Intercontinental Nigeria Limited, Asiwaju Tajudeen Owoyemi, stated: With the addition of the Radisson Collection Hotel & Conference Center, Abuja to our collective portfolio, we are excited to continue our cooperation with the Radisson Hotel Group.
