Recession: BNI embarks on a record world business tour to drive business under the theme “Growing Forward Together”

BNI, the world leader in business networking and referrals is embarking on a record world tour to drive and spur business globally in the face of the looming recession occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic. Founded in 1985 by the world renown Father of Business Networking, Dr. Ivan Misner, BNI is today present in over 70 countries and operating in more that 9,665 chapters around the world. As at the last count in March 2020, the organization has a membership of over 270,000 business owners, executives and entrepreneurs including members from African countries of Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Zimbabwe.

According to Mazi Chimaobi James Agwu, the National Director of BNI Nigeria, the World Tour will be broadcasting live globally in 70 countries in just 3 days from July 14 to 16. According to him, the World Tour will among other things, present and share Dr. Ivan Misner’s inspirational vision for the future.

The World Tour commences on Tuesday July 14 with broadcast for the Asian countries including Australia and New Zealand. This broadcast will cut across seven time zones from 8.30am to 3.30pm.

The next broadcast of the World Tour will be on Wednesday July 15 and this covers North, Central and South American Countries covering 8 time zones from 8.30 am to 3.30pm

BNI members refuse to participate in any recession

The last broadcast for the World Tour will be on Thursday July 16th and will cover Europe, Africa and the Middle East including Nigeria and covers over 4 time zones from 1pm to 4.30pm. Nigeria will air at 1pm to 1.30pm on Thursday July 16.

Mazi Chimaobi Agwu explained that even in the face of the Covid-19 onslaught, BNI has continued to help its members generate more businesses across the World. BNI members have generated over $7 billion in business revenue year to date in 2020.

Dr. Ivan Misner, Ph.D., the Founder & Chief Visionary Officer of BNI, is from the University of Southern California. He is a New York Times Bestselling author who has written 24 books including one of his latest books – Who’s in Your Room? He is also a columnist for Entrepreneur.com and has been a university professor as well as a member of the Board of Trustees for the University of La Verne.

Graham Weihmiller, CEO and Chairman, BNI

Graham Weihmiller is a Global business leader, with over 20 years of experience in franchising, business management and strategic planning.

He is currently Chairman & CEO at BNI, the world’s largest business networking organization, and a Director of the BNI Foundation, which helps underprivileged children access life-changing educational opportunities throughout the world.

Weihmiller is an active member in the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and the Harvard Business School Club of Charlotte. He is trained in Lean Enterprise, Process Excellence, Design for Six Sigma and is a Six Sigma Black Belt.

Prior to BNI, he served as Chairman & CEO of a 34-year old home-care services company with over 250 locations across the United States. While there, Weihmiller created a foundation that provides home-care to elders who cannot otherwise afford it.

Previously, Graham Weihmiller held leadership roles at Pioneer Equity Partners, Financial Health Services, American Franchise Company, Bank of America, Booz Allen and JP Morgan.
