Shares maintain the upward momentum with 1.11% gain on Tuesday
The Nigerian stock market All share Index extended its gains for the fourth consecutive day rising 1.11% to close at 65,991.02 points. As a result, the All share Index YTD return grew to 28.76%, while the market capitalization increased by N393.54 billion to conclude at N35.93 trillion.
Gains in MTNN (+5.52%), ZENITHBANK (+0.86%), and GEREGU (+3.60%) kept the market in the black, while losses in STANBIC (-2.10%), WAPCO (-2.61%), and NB (-3.78%) kept the market in the red.
Turnover was however lower when compared to Monday’s performance with the value of transactions falling by 42.62%. In total, 553.52 million shares worth N7.42 billion were traded in 8,313 transactions. JAPAULGOLD (+9.78%) won the volume chart with 72.49m units exchanged, while GTCO (+0.52%) headed the value chart with 1.70 billion in transactions. FTNCOCOA (+10.00%) led twenty-one (21) other companies on the leader’s board, while CONOIL (-10.00%) led twenty-one (21) other companies on the laggard’s board.
