Stock market All Share Index Up by 0.81% on Thursday

The stock market All Shate Index rose by 0.81% on Thursday to conclude at 62,019.88 points as local shares extended advances for the second straight session. As a result the Year-to-date (YTD) returns for the ASI increased to 21.01%, while market capitalization increased by N270.24 billion to conclude at N33.77 trillion.

DANGCEM (+1.75%), ZENITHBANK (+1.32%), and STANBIC (+1.67%) were the market’s top contributors, along with industrial heavyweight DANGCEM (+1.75%). In light of this, the market is still on course to post its first weekly gain of the month.

Trade turnover settled higher than it did 9n Wednesday with 9,948 transactions totaling 5.44 billion shares worth N95.01 billion completed. With 4.69 billion units traded in transactions totaling N87.81 billion FBNH (+2.70%) topped the volume and value charts.

Thirty-three (33) other companies trailed UBN (+10.00%) on the gainer’s log, while WAPIC (-9.59%) was ahead of fourteen (14) other companies on the laggard’s table.
