Stock market gains 0.60% on Monday gifting investors N203.44 billion

The Nigerian stock market gained 0.60% on Monday to close at 62,943.35 points and as a result the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 22.81% while market capitalization increased by N203.44 billion to close at N34.27 trillion.

The market’s robust performance was primarily driven by investor interest in ZENITHBANK (+4.46%), GEREGU (+6.06%), and GTCO (+0.89%), offsetting losses in DANGCEM (-1.49%), NB (-5.13%), and DANGSUGAR(-3.10%).

Trade turnover settled higher than it did on Monday with 8,979 transactions involving 710.02 million shares worth N13.83 billion completed. With 65.95 million units exchanged, STERLINGNG (+9.97%) led the volume chart, and DANGCEM (-1.49%) headed the value chart with transactions totaling 7.49 billion.

Twenty-eight (28) other teams were surpassed by FIDELITYBK (+10.00%) on the leader’s table, while seventeen (17) other teams were surpassed by UBN (-10.00%) on the laggard’s log.
