Stock Market Gains N6.04 million as the All Share Index rises by 0.04% on Tuesday
The Nigerian stock exchange gained 0.04% to settle at 51,138.92 points on Tuesday. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return of the ASI rose to -0.22%, and market capitalization increased by N6.04 billion to close at N27.85 trillion.
The market’s rebound was driven by gains in GTCO (+0.60%), NB (+1.10%), and FBNH (+1.46%), which outweighed losses in ZENITHBANK (-0.91%), WAPCO (-0.21%), and ACCESSCORP (-0.56%).
The value of transactions increased by 220.17% indicating that trade turnover settled higher than it had the previous session. In all a total of 4,669 transactions involving 1.82 billion shares worth N5.02 billion were completed.
With 1.60 billion units exchanged in transactions totaling N3.09 billion, TRANSCORP (+9.73%) topped the volume and value charts. On the laggard’s log, VITAFOAM (-8.5%) outperformed seventeen (17) other companies, while TRANSCORP (+9.73%) outperformed fifteen (15) other companies.
