Stock market investors get reprieve as marker rebounds with 1.62% gain

Investors in the Nigerian Stock market got a reprieve on Thursday as the market closed with 1.62% gain with the All-Share Index settl8ng at 65,204.62 points. The year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 27.23% as a result, and the market capitalization increased by N564.84 billion to close at N35.48 trillion.

Gains in Index heavyweights MTNN (+0.36%), DANGCEM (+9.34%), and GTCO (+1.33%) coupled with other market movers boosted the overall index.

The value of transactions increased by 119.49% while trade turnover settled higher than it was on Wednesday. In 5,531 transactions, 361.20 million shares worth N5.74 billion were swapped.

With 140.18 million units traded in transactions totaling 2.61 billion, FBNH (+7.34%) topped the volume and value charts. On the laggard’s table, CAP (-10.00%) outperformed fourteen (14) other competitors, while DANGCEM (+9.34%) outperformed twelve (12) other competitors.
