Stocks gain 1.31% on Tuesday
Nigerian stock market All Share Index gained 1.31% today to settle at 63,766.72 points, extending advances for the second consecutive day. As a result, the ASI’s year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 24.42%, while the market capitalization increased by N448.34 billion to close at N34.72 trillion.
Trade turnover was larger than the previous session, with the value of transactions increasing by 209.54% as 8,970 transactions involving 868.80 million shares worth N42.81 billion were exchanged. FCMB (+3.33%) dominated the volume chart with 153.88 million units moved, while DANGCEM (+6.67%) led the value chart with 35.81 billion in transactions.
DANGCEM (+6.67%), GTCO (+1.47%), and ACCESSCORP (+1.83%) outperformed ZENITHBANK (-3.39%), STANBIC (-6.86%), and UBA (-1.43%), maintaining the market in positive territory. HONYFLOUR (+10.00%) led 38 other competitors on the leader’s board, while JAPAULGOLD (-10.00%) led thirteen (13) competitors on the laggard’s board.
