The African Commodities And African Exchange Indexes closed on A Positive Note

The ACI and AEI both closed the week with a positive performance, with 7.86% and 8.04% respectively as investors on the exchange priced most commodities on the exchange higher than they did in the previous week.

The Drivers of the ACI for the week were maize, sorghum and soybean as these commodities exchange price uptick by 10.52%, 3.46% and 1.29% (W-o-W) respectively. For the export commodities, ginger outperformed cocoa and sesame, closing the week with a 16.24% increase (W-o-W) as the demand for the commodity increases due to the perceived superiority of the country’s ginger compared to Asian competitors
