The All Share Index of the Nigerian stock exchange fell by 0.20% to close at 52,821.60 points today Thursday. As a result, the YTD return fell to 3.06%, while market capitalization fell by N57.70 billion to conclude at N28.76 trillion.
GEREGU (-4.78%), GTCO (-1.47%), and ACCESSCORP (-1.35%) sold off, contributing to the market’s poor performance, despite advances in MTNN (+0.09%), STANBIC (+0.13%), and UBA (+0.57%). CONOIL (-9.92%) led nineteen (19) others on the leader’s table, while FTN (+8.77%) led seventeen (17) others.
Trade turnover witnesses the value of transactions increasing by 17.16%. In total, 377.14 million shares worth N9.18 billion were traded in 5,879 transactions. UBA (+0.57%) led the volume chart with 86.17 million units traded, while GEREGU (-4.78%) dominated the value chart with transactions totaling N3.92 billion.
