The Kingdom of Morocco Launch MoroccoTech Brand, Unveils Ambition To Become A Digital Nation

Morocco has launched a national brand aimed at promoting the nation’s digital sector. Dubbed MoroccoTech, the initiative aims to propel Morocco as a digital hub destination for companies across the globe. It is being led by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, in collaboration with the Federation of Information Technologies, Telecommunications, and Offshoring (APEBI), and in collaboration with AMDIE, ADD, CGEM, AUSIM, and Technopark.

MoroccoTech aspires also aid all Moroccan ecosystems in their digital transformation. This effort, which is the product of a “public-private” partnership approach, is the manifestation of a mobilizing and unifying movement among the Moroccan digital ecosystem’s many participants.

“This day is a celebration of digital Made in Morocco” said Ghita MEZZOUR Minister Delegate, in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

The Minister also emphasized Morocco’s determination to establish itself as a regional digital hub, through the Morocco Tech brand, in particular by promoting its assets as a “tech destination”.

“Morocco has one of the most attractive talent pools in the region and one of the best infrastructures on the continent. The Kingdom can also rely on a large number of innovative companies that support customers in Morocco and around the world, particularly in the field of offshoring. It thus demonstrates its ability to develop an internationally competitive digital ecosystem, thanks to its adapted offers and its tailor-made support for investors, making it possible to attract several prestigious technology companies to set up and invest in Morocco,” Ghita MEZZOUR said.

Digital and tech innovation is at the heart of Morocco’s economic transformation through innovation- led growth, as the country seeks to become an international digital hub and the best techshoring destination in Africa. Sector-specific developments are setting a precedent for the wider economic growth, as both the private and public sectors consider adoption of new technologies as a way to increase efficiency. 

Over the last few years, the country has been able to capitalize on its the quality of its young talents, its proximity to European markets, as well as its regionally competitive telecommunication infrastructure and multilingual workforce, to achieve reasonable success in building up a digital hub model. The country has now embarked on a mission to develop MoroccoTech Ecosystem, as it realizes the enormous contribution it can make to the economic growth. digital is a promising sector and great opportunity for the national economy because of its potential to create jobs for youth and its contribution to the country’s balance of trade.
