The Nigerian stock market losses 0.38% (N139.79 billion) on Thursday’s trading

The all-share index of the Nigerian stock market lost 0.38% today to close at 67,098.80 points.  As a result, the market capitalization lost N139.79 billion to close at N36.86 trillion, which decreased the year-to-date (YTD) return to 30.92%.

The market fell after selloffs in index heavyweights MTNN (-0.20%), NESTLE (-0.49%), and ZENITHBANK (-0.75%) were unable to balance demand in GTCO (+0.71%). On the laggard’s table, STANBIC (-8.49%) outperformed 19 other participants, while LEARNAFRICA (+10.00%) outperformed 9 other participants.

Trade turnover was lower than it on Wednesday with a 4.60% decrease in transaction value. In total, 5,453 transactions involving 298.69 million shares worth N4.48 billion were exchanged. With 56.29 million units exchanged in transactions totaling N1.05 billion, UBA (+0.00%) topped the value and volume charts.
