Vertiv opens office and Customer Showroom in Lagos
Vertiv, a major provider of solutions for essential digital infrastructure and business continuity, has announced the establishment of a new office and customer showroom in Lagos, Nigeria, as part of its ongoing investment in the continent of Africa.
With the assistance of knowledgeable engineering specialists, the new local facility will give Nigerian clients and partners first-hand exposure to a variety of VertivTM thermal management, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and integrated cabinet solutions in actual field settings and in real time. Among them are the Vertiv SmartCabinet, a pre-configured, self-contained infrastructure solution that provides effectiveness, economy, interoperability, and control; and the Vertiv Liebert EXS UPS, an optimized three-phase, high efficiency power protection system with integrated internal battery, maintenance bypass, and optional receptacle distribution in a single package.
Visitors can also enjoy a virtual reality (VR) experience at the Customer Showroom. Visitors can interact with equipment, watch animations that show how to maximize space and efficiency within Vertiv products, and look at the spatial placement of Vertiv’s rack and row solutions as though the equipment is actually on site here using a VR headset and hand controllers.
Additionally, the new center will offer full-service certification courses for Vertiv’s authorized service partner network, presales, sales, and product training, as well as other services.
A leading African infrastructure private equity manager, African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), claims that the continent’s progress toward digitalization is being fueled by rapidly rising internet penetration rates and a booming cloud services market, with data centers, fiber-optic broadband expansion, and telecom towers poised to replace oil as the continent’s primary source of income.
A strong data center infrastructure is necessary to support Africa’s expanding digital economy, according to Wojtek Piorko, managing director for Vertiv Africa. Vertiv is in a good position to offer the essential digital foundation required for neighborhood telecommunications networks and industrial facilities to support digital transformation.
With a strong concentration on the telecommunications and colocation industries, he continues, “Our new Nigerian office and Customer Showroom will allow Vertiv to place greater strategic focus on operations within the country as well as the larger Central African region. “We expect exciting times ahead for Vertiv in Africa and will keep working to develop our local team, widen our network of authorized partners and service providers, and meet the evolving needs of our African clients,” the company stated.
Following the establishment of a comparable facility in Nairobi, Kenya, in 2022 and, more recently, the official launch of the African headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa, earlier this year, the Lagos office is an important component of Vertiv’s continued investment in Africa.
