Winners of Africa’s Business Heroes Entrepreneurship Journalism Excellence Award by APO Group Announced

APO Group, a trusted partner of the Africa’s Business Heroes Prize Competition, is thrilled to announce the winners of the first-ever Africa’s Business Heroes Entrepreneurship Journalism Excellence Award. This prestigious award aims to recognize and celebrate the invaluable role that journalists play in promoting and supporting African entrepreneurship.

Since its inception in 2019, the ABH Prize Competition, sponsored by the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Philanthropy, has been dedicated to supporting and inspiring entrepreneurs in Africa, with the ultimate goal of fostering a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem across the continent. Over the past five years, ABH has attracted over 100,000 participants from all corners of Africa and has honored numerous exceptional entrepreneurs, providing them not only with financial support but also with training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.

As ABH celebrates its 5th anniversary, it takes pride in its history of nurturing African entrepreneurs who are making significant contributions to their local communities. APO Group, as a long-term partner of the ABH program, shares the same vision of championing African entrepreneurs and is delighted to extend its recognition to the journalists who play a vital role in driving the entrepreneurship narrative and agenda across the continent.

The newly introduced Journalism Excellence Award aims to acknowledge outstanding journalistic work, particularly with a regional focus, that highlights the innovation, community impact, and strategies of African entrepreneurs. It also recognizes entries that reflect the contribution of ABH to the entrepreneurship movement in Africa. The adjudicating panel also took into consideration the impact and depth of the entries.

The awards are categorized geographically, with each of the five regions in Africa having an award for the journalist behind the best work. Additionally, there is a prestigious Grand Journalism Excellence Award that will be presented to the journalist who the judges deem most deserving.
