Abuja – Kaduna Train Service To Resume Operations on Monday December 5 – FG
Fidet Okhiria, the Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation has said that all the Abuja – Kaduna train service will resume operations om Monday, December 5, 2022, with two rail trips from Abuja to Kaduna and vice versa
However, Okhiria encouraged customers who wanted to use the service to start upgrading their mobile apps on December 3 in order to successfully book the journey.
“AK 1 will depart Idu Station at 9:45am and arrive Rigasa Station at 11:53am. KA 2 will depart Rigasa at 8:00am and arrive Idu station at 10:17am. AK 3 will depart Idu Station at 3:30pm and arrive Rigasa Station at 5:38pm. And KA 4 will depart Rigasa at 2pm and arrive Idu Station at 4:07pm.” – said Okhiria.
It will be recalled that the rail service was closed following bandits’ attack on an Abuja bound train on March 28 that left many dead, many dead and some others kidnapped.
Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo, while speaking at the second President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration scorecard (2015-2023) series in Abuja in November 2022, had assured Nigerians and rail users that necessary steps had been taken by the Government and Government agencies to prevent future occurrences of terrorist’s attacks on the rail service and that the Federal Government was in the process of linking the Itakpe/Delta rail service from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
