AFCON 2024: Burkina Faso beat Mauritania while Namibia beat Tunisia in stoppage time

It was a shock result at the ongoing African Cup of Nations – -AFCON competition in Cote d’Ivoire, as less-fancied Namibia pulled the tournament surprise by beating the better-fancied Tunisia by a loan goal. The lone goal was scored by Deon Hotto in the 88th minute of play. Despite having 59% ball possession to Namibia’s 41%, the Carthage Eagles could not get past the Namibia goalkeeper.

In the other match of the day, Burkina Faso secured a one-goal victory over the Mauritanians. Burkina Faso’s lone goal was scored by Bertrand Traore through a penalty in the 96th minute of play. Mali would be taking on South Africa later tonight in another group game.
