Credo to host Africa’s first social payment Hackathon in Nigeria

Credo, Africa’s pioneer social payment platform will be hosting a social payment hackathon, the first of its kind in Nigeria.  

The hybrid event will kick off on 16th May 2022 with a virtual session, and end with a Demo Day to review the feasibility and viability of submissions. This grand finale will hold at Credo’s headquarters on the 21st  of May, 2022. 

Credo is ambitious and intent on “institutionalizing a model that drives innovation and creativity, and engages the brightest minds to build disruptive tech solutions for social payments”, says Adebunmi  Wellington-Ogunlewe, CVO/Co-Founder, Credo. 

She added that the hackathon is the “perfect way to include techies in the ever-growing Social Payments  Sector.” 

Local talent will hone their skills, a reinforcement that the local tech ecosystem is on the leading edge and continues to thrive.  

Winners stand a chance to win cash prizes of up to One Million Naira, and an opportunity to network with tech leaders, enhance coding skills and gain industry exposure. Certificates of participation will be awarded to the other participants. 

The top ten teams from the virtual section of the hackathon will then get the opportunity to pitch their solutions to the judges. 

Mayowa Tudonu Blockchain Engineer, ShardLabs; Sultan Akintunde, Co-Founder TalentQL and Haneefah  Abdurrahman Lekki, Community Manager at Ingressive for Good will be in attendance as well as industry leaders from the Financial Technology space as Judges.  

Registration for this hackathon is totally FREE and will be done on the Credo Website.  The Social Payment Hackathon is sponsored by Credo in partnership with Ingressive for Good, Tech Cabal, and Africa’s Talking.
