Lyft raises $600M at $15.1B valuation

Lyft, the second largest U.S. ride-hailing app, just raised $600 million in a funding round led by Fidelity. The financing reportedly values the company at $15.1 billion, double where it was just over a year ago.

Amazon to swallow PillPack

Amazon.com announced that it plans to acquire Boston-based PillPack, an online pharmacy that offers pre-sorted doses of medications, in a deal reportedly valued at just under $1 billion. Founded in 2013, PillPack previously raised nearly $120 million in venture funding.

EverQuote prices IPO

Online insurance markeplace EverQuote raised $84 million in an IPO on Nasdaq, pricing shares slightly above the projected range.

Beverage startups soak up capital

Investors have been pouring hundreds of millions of dollars a year into beverage startups, a Crunchbase News analysis finds. They’re betting there will be big returns from products ranging from cheese tea to deep ocean water to custom instant coffee.
