FREE OPEN DAY: Calling all Designers & Creatives for a Future of Fashion Q&A
Africa Fashion Week London has always had a basic modus operandi: how we can help our designers; what role do we play in making sure emerging designers are nurtured and not discouraged; how can we promote them more, and above all; what can we do to ensure their sustainability.
We often ask these questions of ourselves and our sustainability too!
Recently, we have been amazed by Congolese designer, Hanifa, and her 3D digital fashion show that went viral this week. We cannot stress this enough: this is the future of fashion. This is how we will move forward in producing shows with virtual and augmented reality and this is how you will be creating your future collections.
Our education partners, Henley Business School (Centre of Entrepreneurship) and Parsons School of Design (Design & Technology Program) have built a 6-day online learning programme to address how African creatives can navigate this new world of high technology and what it entails.
We have put together a free Open Day on 27 May at 12pm via Zoom so you can put your questions to the experts – Dr Adeyinka Adewale and Christopher Kirwen – about the Future of Fashion and why it is vitally important that designers and creatives apply for the 6-day online learning.
At the Open Day Session, the professors will talk about these topics: Fashion Lifecycle Innovation and New Media Wearable Technology Future of Design Value Creation Global Trends Waste to Wealth Sustainability Pitching & Funding Streams Future-Proofing.
You can also apply for a scholarship on the below link. Looking forward to meeting you for this free Open Day Q&A!
