GreenTec Capital opens new office in Lagos, Nigeria

Frankfurt-based firm GreenTec capital has announced that it is expanding its West African presence with the opening of a new office in Lagos, Nigeria. The opening of the Nigerian office according to the company represents the second step in its expansion strategy.

Situated in the most populous city in Africa’s largest market, the office will give GreenTec a local presence in one of the most active startup markets in Africa. The positioning will also give it better access to West Africa as well as Africa’s largest destination for foreign investment.

The Nigeria office will be supported by a highly experienced local team that is passionate about sustainable development and entrepreneurship. The team will consist of Mr David Ogundeko and Ms Eniola Lawal.

GreenTec recently made an investment into Kenyan insurance company, Bismart. The firm also invested into Nigeria’s Parcel-IT, an innovative on-demand logistics platform aimed at targeting the more than 20,000 daily delivery requests around Lagos.

Parcel-IT’s app solves these problems, by providing access to delivery riders on-demand. The app is designed to be an open marketplace for dispatching riders and is available as a free downloadable app from the Google Play Store or as an API to integrate dispatching with e-commerce providers.
