Investors gain N6.18 billion as stocks increase marginally by 0.02% on Wednesday
Stocks on the Nigerian stock exchange gained 2bps to settle at 54,507.66 on Wednesday. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased marginally to 6.35%, and the market capitalization increased by N6.18 billion to close at N29.69 trillion.
Trade turnover however experienced a 23.50% decrease in transaction value. In total, 2,905 transactions involving 134.46 million shares worth N4.36 billion were completed
The market activities was driven by banking companies such as ZENITHBANK (+0.20%), GTCO (+0.20%), and FBNH (+0.86%). With 42.35 million shares traded, GTCO (+0.02%) dominated the volume chart, while SEPLAT (+0.00%) led the value chart with transactions totaling 1.18 billion. 13 other competitors were surpassed by LINKASSURE (+7.14%), while 13 other competitors were surpassed by SOVRENINS (-6.67%) on the laggard’s table.
