Investors lose N6.55 million as the stock market declined by 0.02% on Thursday

The NGX All-Share Index declined by 0.02% to settle at 54,924.08 points on Thursday with the year-to-date (YTD) returns for the ASI falling to 7.17%, while market capitalization dropped N6.55 billion to conclude at N29,92 trillion.

Trade turnover settled higher than it had on Wednesday with a total of 2,575 transactions involving 117.85 million shares worth N1.40 billion completed. The disappointing performance was caused by selloffs in GTCO (-0.20%) and ACCESSCORP (-2.25%) offsetting fresh demand for ZENITHBANK (+0.20%) and TRANSCORP (+5.38%).

With 23.40 million units, TRANSCORP (+5.38%) dominated the volume chart, while MTNN (0.00%) lead the value chart with transactions totaling 370.21 million. On the laggard’s log, LINKASSURE (-8.70%) outperformed thirteen (13) other competitors, while TRANSCOHOT (+8.32%) outperformed nine (9) others.
