Main One launches cloud computing service

Main One’s Data Center subsidiary, MDX-I, has launched a new cloud-based computing service in partnership with Microsoft. The service which was launched today in Lagos is built on Microsoft Azure’s infrastructure and provide s flexible and secure private computing environments on Pay-As-You-Go basis to companies.

The cloud based computing service equips MDX-I to fully service the ICT infrastructure needs of medium to large companies deploying hybrid clouds from its Lagos Data Center.Cloud based computing service and IAAS as the new thing in computing and makes it easier for organizations to deploy various levels and upgradable ICT needs quickly thus improving on turn around, service delivery and applications.

Microsoft Nigeria’s Managing Director,  Kabelo Makwane,  said that  Cloud OS network members deliver the Microsoft Cloud Platform customized to clients specific needs. He referred to the the Cloud OS Network as a “worldwide group of select service providers that partner closely with Microsoft to offer customers hybrid cloud and Azure-enabled solutions”.

The Business Development Executive of MDX-i, Rob Lever, referred to the OS as both scalable, responsive, cost effective and swift to deploy.  “Businesses are beginning to embrace Cloud services because it promises increased agility in addition to savings in OPEX and CAPEX, he said.

According to management of Main One, MDX-i will over time offer more suit of cloud based IT integrated services to the market including SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and BaaS (Backup as a Service).
