NGX All-Share Index gains 0.40% on Friday to close at 54,213.09 points

The Nigerian Stock Exchange closed Friday’s trading activities with the NGX All-Share index gaining 0.40% to close at 54,213.09 points with a weekly gain of 2.95%, marking its fourth straight weekly gain.

Market capitalization increased by N847.08 billion weekly to close at N29.53 trillion, and the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 5.78%. Trade turnover was lower when compared to Thursdays with a 70.82% decrease in transaction value. In total, 4,017 transactions involved 268.02 million shares worth N2.35 billion were executed

The market remained positive due to MTNN (+1.88%), as well as ZENITHBANK (+0.40%), GTCO (+0.60%), and WAPCO (+0.60%). The market’s gain was driven by robust performance from index heavyweights AIRTELAFRI (+3.11% w/w), MTNN (+5.73% w/w), and SEPLAT (+20.45% w/w).

GTCO (+0.60%) topped both the volume and value charts with trades totaling 20.80 million units and $522.21 million. On the leader’s log, FTNCOCOA (+10.00) outperformed twenty-four (24) other competitors, while MAYBAKER (-2.89%) outperformed five (5) other competitors.
