Nigerian stock exchange All Share Index lost 0.06% on Thursday

The Nigerian stock exchange All Share Index closed negative today with a loss of 0.06% (i.e. 6bps) to end the trading session at 67,335.30 points. As a result the year-to-date (YTD) return fell to 31.38%, with the market capitalization falling by ₦25.05bn to close at ₦36.85trn.

Losses in NESTLE (-2.38%), ZENITHBANK (-2.51%) and GTCO (-2.96%) were the major drivers of the market’s negative performance outweighing gains in ACCESSCORP (+0.89%), WAPCO (+1.72%) and UBA (+8.25%).

Trade turnover settled higher When compared to Wednesday’s results with the value of transactions up by 62.93%. A total of 788.54m shares valued at ₦14.17bn were exchanged in 8,810 deals. UBA (+8.25%) led the volume and value charts with 301.03m units traded in deals worth ₦4.89bn. LEARNAFRICA (+9.97%) led nineteen (19) others on the leader’s log while CUTIX (-5.56%) topped sixteen (16) others on the laggard’s table.
