Nigerians can now make payments on Google Play Store with Naira
Google has announced that Nigerians can now use the Naira to make payments on the Play Store. This follows its collaboration with Verve, Africa’s largest domestic card scheme, to make digital transactions on the Google Play Store easier and more accessible to Nigerians.
The announcement comes as a comfort to Nigerians purchasing apps from the Google Store.africa.cybertechconference.com at a time when banks in the country are struggling to meet forex requests from their customers in order to make foreign payments.
Google will process Verve transactions within Nigeria under this new agreement. These transactions will be conducted in Nigerian Naira treated as domestic transactions by the country’s banking institutions. As a result, any Nigerian with an Android device and a Verve card now have a simplified method for making Google Play Store purchases.
