NIRA’s .NG RESELLERS ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAMME

The NIRA Academy mounted the second .ng Resellers Entrepreneurship Programme (REP) for 2018 at the NIRA Office Complex, 8 Funsho Williams Avenue, Surulere Lagos on Tuesday 7th August 2018.

The REP is aimed at developing and training entrepreneurs & aspiring entrepreneurs in the Domain Name Industry. The training also provides insights into the vast opportunities that exist within the Domain Name Industry. Participants were encouraged to network with professionals within Industry. NiRA Accredited Registrars, Garanntor Nigeria and Radix Domains were present at the event.

The participants were encouraged to become entrepreneurs and employers of labor. Participants were informed that though NiRA has adopted the 3-R (registry/registrar/registrant) model in the operation and management of the .ng ccTLD, NiRA is aware of the Reseller programmes of its Accredited Registrars. The resellers are closer to the registrants (and potential registrants) and have direct access to these groups in the Ecosystem.

The participants were exposed to the various opportunities in the DNS Industry as the need to look out for existing needs in the society and make provisions for these needs. They were told that Entrepreneurs are passionate, committed to providing a solution to societal needs, innovative, conduct researches, have personal belief and hard work.

Garanntor Nigeria and Radix Domains made presentations on their various reseller packages and Hosting services and their various opportunities. The participants were encouraged to reach out to other NiRA Accredited Registrars to understand the various reseller packages.

In all, the participants understood that as an entrepreneur, they would contribute to growing the Nigerian economy and reduce capital flight by registering .ng domain names and hosting their websites locally.
