The 2023 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme application portal is NOW OPEN

The 2023 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme application portal is now open and will run till March 31, 2023.

Entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs are invited and encouraged to apply to benefit from the program which empowers a minimum of 1,000 African entrepreneurs yearly.

To apply for the program, entrepreneurs are advised to visit the application portal, www.tefconnect.net to commence the application program. Every year tens of thousands of African entrepreneurs apply for the program and this year the projection is that more than 50,000 entrepreneurs will apply.

The TEF program focuses on innovative and scalable ventures with potentials for income earnings, growth and employment generation and ventures that rely of African raw materials and with potentials for cross border trade and exports.

The Tony Elumemelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Program accepts applications from individuals in all African countries and from all sectors.

In 2022, a total of 1,463 Entrepreneurs were onboarded and benefited from the program. These ones joined the list of over 18,000 entrepreneurs onboarded to date. The top five sectors that got the 2022 awards are Agriculture, Manufacturing, Fashion, ICT and Healthcare. With 561 cohorts, agriculture had the largest share with 38.3% of the beneficiaries. agriculture was closely followed by Manufacturing 142 (9.7%), Fashion 113 (7.72%), ICT 94 (6.43%) and Healthcare 90 (6.15%).

In the 2022 list of TEF awardees, the sectors the entrepreneurs represented are (NOTE: Numbers in brackets represent the number of awardees in that sector): ICT (94), Healthcare (90), Agriculture (561), Commercial/Retail (45), Oil and Gas (7), Media and Entertainment (40), Education and Training (76), Fashion (113), FMCG (43), Professional Services (57), Construction (23), Energy and Power Generation (33), Waste management (61), Consulting (11), Transportation (20), Manufacturing (142), Food and Beverages (6), Event Planning (1), Tourism and Hospitality (30), Haulage and Logistics (7), financial Services (11), Aviation (1), Beauty and Wellness (2) and Telecommunications (3).
