The Nigerian Stock Market rally to a 0.27% gain on Thursday

The Nigerian Stock Market gained 0.27% at the end of Thursday’s trading session to close at 63,930.72 points. As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return increased to 24.74%, while market capitalization increased by N94.46 billion to close at N34.81 trillion.

Gains in ZENITHBANK (+0.16%), GEREGU (+5.71%), and GTCO (+0.57%) drove the overall index higher. As a result, the market remains on track for a week of gains. UPL (+10.00%) led twenty-seven (27) other gainers on the leaderboard, while COURTVILLE (-9.86%) led fifteen (15) other laggards.

Trade turnover settled higher when compared to Wednesday’s results with the value of transactions increasing by 79.21%. In 7,179 transactions, 1.36 billion shares worth N18.07 billion were traded. UBA (+2.65%) lead the volume and value charts, with 961.50 million units exchanged in transactions worth N13.31 billion.
