Applications open for Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator Program

Visa has started accepting applications for entrepreneurs to join in the Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator program’s first cohort. The program is designed for African entrepreneurs and will run for 12 weeks twice a year, with up to 20 startups per cohort.

Startups up to the Series A level are urged to apply via the Visa website for the opportunity to obtain unrivaled experience, important business connections, cutting-edge technology, and potential investment money.

Visa Africa Fintech Accelerator Program

The accelerator intends to boost Africa’s payment ecosystem through innovations and technology, concentrating on digitizing economies, upskilling talent, and developing capacity, in keeping with Visa’s goal to invest $1 billion in Africa by 2027.

Plug and Play, the world’s top innovation platform, will be the Visa Africa Accelerator’s program partner. Throughout the 12-week program, Plug and Play will provide relevant content, arrange one-on-one coaching sessions, and link companies with a worldwide and regional network of investors. The Visa Fintech Accelerator is seeking disruptive firms that operate and produce money in Africa.

Startups in embedded finance, merchant and SMEs empowerment, developing the future of finance, sustainable and inclusive finance, and payment infrastructure enablers are encouraged to apply.
