Uber is seeing red ink accumulate as it preps for a public offering next year. The company reported a loss of $939 million in Q3, up 32 percent quarter-over-quarter, as it invests in new businesses and expanding geographies. The losses continue a long-standing pattern for the ride-hailing giant.

San Francisco-based Airtable, which makes a database and spreadsheet platform geared for non-techies, raised $100M at a $1.1B valuation. Benchmark, Thrive Capital, and Coatue Management led the round.
