Whogohost trains Web developers for self employment and job creation
Nigeria’s leading domain name registrar and web hosting company, Whogohost, on Saturday October 3, 2015 trained over 100 Nigerians on web development and opportunities in the ICT space. According to the CEO of the company, Mr. Toba Obaniyi, the exercise is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) and efforts towards SME growth and reduction in unemployment. “We are always looking for new ways to add value and make a difference in our country”, he said.
The one day intensive training was held at the Yusuf Grillo Auditorium of Yaba College of Technology. It attracted students, youths, professionals and entrepreneurs and IT savvy people. It was organized by Whogohost in partnership with NITDA and NACOSS. At the event, the company gave out web development templates, softwares and other tools to the participants. Access was also granted to all the participants to the company’s online training platform where they can download more training resources.
To further show its business friendly nature, the CEO of the company is giving out free domain registration and webhosting to serious participants who show evidence of taking up business in the ICT terrain. All the resources and materials were given out free by the company and no participant paid any fee of any sort.
Whogohost currently controls over 34% of the domain name registration and web hosting market in Nigeria and has built and maintained sites and apps for different sized organizations. The company, though a young and small SME in the Nigerian business space, has shown more commitment to the Nigerian project than most other bigger SMEs and large corporate organizations through its giving back to the country and Nation.
The ICT space is a major driver of business and enabler of business and has created and continued to create massive market and jobs in many countries including Nigeria.
